A new seminar designed to bring you back to handwork at its best. The
seminar will be held at the beautiful Valley View Lodge
in Townsend, TN. Townsend is located on the “Peaceful Side of the Smokies” just
30 minutes (20 miles) from the Knoxville Airport.
Surrounded by the beauty of the Smoky Mountains, you’ll be inspired to quilt as you never have
before.
Walk among towering trees and flowering plants. See wild flowers on the grounds and at the nearby
Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The beauty of this place will capture your imagination and
bring peace to your hurried life.
Come early and visit nearby historic Cades Cove. Bring your camera to capture
the abundant wildlife and scenic views.
There are nearby antique and craft shops to visit and we’ll even provide you
with a map to the local quilt shops.
Once the seminar begins, every detail will be taken care of. You’ll be delighted with
everything we have planned for you.
We are very pleased to have a special guest quilt historian this year, Merikay Waldvogel. Merikay
co authored the book, “Tennessee Quilts”. She will be lecturing and sharing her information on
Tennessee Quilts on Thursday evening.
The Quilt
“Bears and Berries” is the second quilt designed by Cindy to celebrate her new home near the mountains.
You will get a copy of the this exclusive pattern to work on for the two full days of the seminar.
You will have your choice of a traditional bear paw quilt arrangement with alternating embroidered
blocks or a strippy version with rows of “paws” and rows of embroidered vines with berries.
Either quilt will become a treasured heirloom.
A detailed supply list for the quilts will be sent out to all attendees. A notions bag will be
provided with Cindy’s favorite notions and goodies.
