Celebrating out sixth year of handwork at its best! Our seminar will again be held at the
Talley-Ho Inn in Townsend, TN. Townsend is
located on the "Peaceful Side of the Smokies" just 30 minutes (20 miles) from the Knoxville airport.
Surrounded by the beauty of the Smoky Mountains, you'll be inspired to quilt as you
never have before. The Talley Ho Inn is located beside the Heritage Museum, just a few
minutes from the entrance to the Great Smoky National Park. Come early and visit Cades
Cove. Bring your camera to capture the abundant wildlife and scenic views.
Once the seminar begins, every detail will be taken care of. You will be delighted with everything
we have planned for you. From beginners to advanced stitchers, this seminar covers it all.
The Quilt
"Wild Mountain Vine" is the name of the 2012 seminar quilt. It is based on the antique touching stars
quilt. Learn to blend different fabrics to create unique star blocks. Each star block will lie flat
every time with the skills you will learn.
Enhance your quilt with Cindy's signature embroidery designs both around the border and in the enclosed
blocks. Learn how to hand embroider with ease.
Accommodations
The Talley Ho Inn is located at 8314 State Highway 73 in
Townsend, TN. We have blocked rooms at the special discount rate of $63.00 per night (The October 16 seminar
rate is $95 per night.) Please mention "Handwork in the Smokies" to secure this rate. All rooms have
coffee makers, refrigerators and microwaves. Please call the hotel directly to book your room at

The Carriage House restaurant adjoins the inn. All visitors will receive a 10% discount on their
meals when staying at the Talley Ho. This restaurant is moderately priced and has a wide range of meals.
Registration
Registration will be on a first come, first serve basis and is limited to 22 students.
Your payment in full will hold your place. You will be responsible for your own travel arrangements,
hotel, meals, quilt fabrics and supplies.
The registration fee of $279 covers the exclusive quilt pattern "Wild Mountain Vine" designed for the 2012
seminar, essential notions bag, and administrative costs. The fee also covers 2 1/2 days of teaching by Cindy,
including topics of how to get those stars flat EVERY time, choosing fabrics for scrap quilts, blending fabrics
for perfect stars, and flawless embroidery stitching. The fee also includes a brand new Wednesday evening
lecture "Oh, Those Wonderful Charm Quilts". Cindy uses a camera and projector to teach all the lessons, so you
can sit comfortably and sew along with her. She also teaches her special hand piecing tips one-on-one to her students.
Mail your check made out to Cindy Blackberg for $279 to the address on the
registration form. You will be sent a confirmation letter on receipt of your
check. You will receive a seminar package that contains a detailed color supply list two months prior to
your seminar date. A $50 cancellation fee will apply if you need to cancel up to 60 days prior to your seminar.
After 60 days, you will receive a refund only if your space can be filled from the waiting list.
Seminar Schedule
All seminars begin on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30pm. The seminar ends on Thursday afternoon at 4:00pm.
