As many teachers have done, Cindy is now doing live demonstrations with her camera and projector equipment in the classroom. This puts her teaching on a new level where students can sew along at the same time without leaving their seats. Guilds or shops must provide a slide screen for each of her hand work classes.

Tiny Stitches 2
Cindy's most popular class is back! Everyone wants tiny hand quilting stitches. This updated and revised workshop helps everyone to achieve this goal. A perfect class to refine your skill or learn a new one.



Spoolin' Around
Just how many hand pieced spools can you make in 3 hours? This fun filled workshop is great for beginners as well as seasoned stitchers. The new rage in Europe, this little 3" spool block will be your constant companion as you work or play!



Honeycomb Stars
Learn about fabric values and textures as you hand piece several of these small baby block stars. As seen in the June 2010 issue of American Patchwork and Quilting.



Hand Pieced Curves
Time to clear out the scrap bag! Using the apple core as our pattern, you will learn to hand piece curves with ease and a little practice. You will learn which fabrics are appropriate for this scrappy quilt. This will be a great portable project.



Dashing Around... Introduction to Hand Piecing
This isn't your grandma's hand piecing! Busy people need to hand piece. Learn how hand piecing has evolved to today's easy methods. Four little churn dash blocks will be stamped out and ready to sew as you "dash."



Hand Pieced Stamp Basket
Fall in love with hand piecing with no templates! The block pieces are stamped on fabric, ready to cut out and sew. The class project is a small three block quilt inspired from an antique quilt. Since there is no preliminary work, students will concentrate on learning basic hand piecing skills. This workshop is great for beginners.





Six Hour Workshops


Mountain Blossoms
This quilt was the 2007 seminar quilt for "Handwork in the Smokies" and is now available to your guild or shop as a workshop. This quilt is a handwork delight with delicate embroidered vines, hand pieced and appliqued flowers. Work on one block at the workshop that can be made into a table runner or go onto make it into a nine block quilt.



Perfect Hand Piecing
Return to the relaxing art of hand piecing. While stitching on a sunburst block, you will learn to accurately piece points and set in curves with Cindy's own technique. Students will make their sample block in class that can be made into a pillow or become part of a whole quilt.



Mariner's Compass
It's back! Cindy's most popular workshop comes back with a brand new look. This workshop will satisfy all tastes, since students can choose to hand piece or machine piece the block. Cindy's techniques will show how easy the block can be pieced without foundation papers or templates! Each student will stamp out her pieces to make it the most accurate compass EVER!



Carpenter's Star
Hand piece your way to a wonderful quilt that is made up of scraps!! You will choose the block that you wish to make, the traditional Carpenter's Wheel or the four small star blocks. Accuracy will be maintained with the use of template stamps. Make one block that can be used for a pillow or sample, or continue on and make the entire quilt, complete with the wonderful folded diamond border. (All levels, hand.)



Civil War Mini Sampler
Have you been collecting wonderful reproduction fabrics and are looking for the perfect quilt to showcase them? This quilt is for you! Each of the twenty-five - 4" blocks use the same 4 templates. Choose to work on your favorite block in class. All levels.





Lectures


Quilt History and Trunk Show (Quilts and Quotes)
Using quotes from our foremothers and representative quilts, Cindy shares her love of quilt history. Sometimes humorous, sometimes touching, Cindy shows her favorite quilts and tells their stories. Participants are invited to take pictures and ask questions. (Two tall people are needed to hold up the quilts and pass to the audience.)



Sneaky Tips and Tricks of the Pros
Some things you just don't learn in a book! A humorous, yet informative lecture at how the pros get those quilts to lie flat, save time in quilt making, organize their stashes, and get inspiration for their work. This lecture gives you a delightful look at several professional teachers. (Slide screen needed for power point lecture.)
